What is Energy Management, Its Principles, Need, Importance

Hello friends, today I am going to tell you What is Energy Management, Its Principles, Need, Importance: If you also want to know, then keep reading this article completely.

What is Energy Management?

Energy management is a term that has many meanings, but here we are focusing on its business, public policy/government undertakings, and energy conservation in homes.

Energy Conservation: Energy management refers to controlling, conserving, and monitoring energy in an enterprise or building. It mainly includes the following steps

1. Capturing energy consumption and storage data.

2. Finding out ways to conserve energy and estimating opportunities for energy conservation. To analyze the meter del and identify the amount of daily energy wastage, which can replace the high consumption electrical appliances used in the building and modern and renewable energy appliances with high safety and low energy consumption. Along with this, the insulation system of the building can also be replaced, or old wires can also be replaced.

3. Analyze the meter data and observe the improvements and review the progress of energy conservation measures.

4. In this way, again go to step 2 and continue this cycle. Many people relate energy management to energy conservation efforts, primarily through making better use of existing buildings and equipment. While this topic is not limited to this, its scope is quite broad. This would not be limited to practical aspects of energy conservation (i.e., encouraging people to save energy and use less energy with energy consciousness) but also cheap and sustainable energy control devices such as timer switches.

The above four-step process can be used in other ways, depending on which energy conservation measures you would like to adopt, whether new equipment or building wiring changes.

Objectives Of Energy Management

The main goals of energy management are as follows:

  1. Minimizing wastage of energy value without affecting production and quality.
  2. He is minimizing environmental impact and change.
  3. We are reducing fuel requirements per unit of energy output.
  4. To make the best possible use of hard-earned energy in all methods, organizations.
  5. Establishing short, medium, and long-term plans as per demand requirements.

Need for Energy Management

Energy management is needed because of the following reasons:-

  1. To reduce the emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, energy efficiency must be increased and renewable energy sources should be used more.
  2. We can save a lot of money by using and installing better equipment and efficient use of equipment.
  3. We can achieve a more comfortable working environment by using energy efficiently (e.g., by not using overheated rooms.
  4. This is a direct way to identify energy values.

Seven Principles of Energy Management

Improving energy management is a significant priority for any energy manager because of rising energy prices. There are many new energy-saving technologies available, but they do not guarantee a successful energy program. In any energy system, the energy manager should take care of the following things for good energy management-

(1) No project should be given consent without knowing when, where, and how the energy will be used. A thorough investigation of energy use practices is the first and most crucial step in any energy program.

(2) More energy can be saved by controlling the use of the power system (e.g., lighting) by installing more efficient equipment (e.g., T-8 lamps), i.e., as much energy as is needed when it is not required. It should be switched off.

(3) More successful energy programs can be achieved through well-managed and maintained services, relatively increasing the number of technical equipment.

(4) With good rendering and good energy management, a high rate of energy conservation can be achieved, reducing the cost of energy.

(5) According to the requirement, conservation should be done in the energy system. As the equipment is new, they do not require maintenance, but when they become old, they need to be repaired from time to time, so there should be facilities for maintenance as per the requirement.

(6) Maintenance, conservation, and energy management serve different purposes, and neither one can replace the other, such as cleaning equipment, replacing a bad lamp, etc.

Are part of good maintenance. But installing more effective lamps is part of energy management. These differences should be kept in mind when budgeting.

The energy system should be checked from time to time. (7) The automatic power management system cannot make up for poor system design. Suppose the heating and cooling loads are not estimated correctly, or the loading gauge itself is faulty. In that case, the automatic power management system cannot correct its performance, so the energy manager should consider these factors at the time.

Importance Of Energy Management

Energy saving in any organization can be done through energy management. Suppose energy-saving is done correctly in the organization. In that case, the energy-related objectives can be met at the world level because energy saving is the need for energy at the world level. Effects prices, emission targets, rules, and regulations.
