Hello friends, today I am going to tell you What is Energy, First Law of Thermodynamics:If you also want to know, then keep reading this article completely.
What is Energy
Energy is the ability to do work. The exchange of energy in a system causes a change in its properties. We cannot see energy directly. Energy is understood only by its effect. This is experienced by the change of properties in the system. Energy has the ability to change the properties of a system. Energy is mainly divided into two parts
(a) Stored Energy – The energy which is stored in the system or matter within its limits is called cumulative energy. It is found in many forms in the substance.
For example, internal energy, potential energy, kinetic energy, chemical energy, magnetic energy etc.
(b) Energy in Transit: The energy which transfers only through the boundary of the system is called transition energy. For example, heat, work, electrical energy etc.
First Law of Thermodynamics
The first law tells only about the transformation of heat and work. It is impossible to build the first type of perpetual motion machine. Under this, the first type of perpetual motion machine is a machine that works without any external energy. According to the first law, such a machine cannot be made. In other words, for any machine to get its work done, it is necessary to provide some kind of energy to it.
According to this law, heat and work can be converted into each other, that is, heat can be converted into work and work can be converted into heat.
W=ΔQ
This law was propounded by Joule, so in this the proportionality constant is denoted by J.
W=JΔQ
The first law can be defined more broadly for any curve.
In a closed system that passes through a curve, the curvilinear integration of heat is equal to the curvilinear integration of work.
This law has been considered the “law of nature”. ,
First Law of Thermodynamics – According to this law, the heat given to a system is equal to the increase in the internal energy of that system and the sum of the work done.
Let dU of heat be given to a system so that the increase in its internal energy is dQ and the work taken is dW.
dU = dQ+dW
Therefore energy is not destroyed, but changed from one form to another.
