Hello friends, today I am going to tell you What is Bernoulli’s theorem? , Applications, Principle, Uses , Applications of Bernoulli’s Theorem :If you also want to know, then keep reading this article completely.
What is Bernoulli’s theorem?
Bernoulli’s Theorem According to Bernoulli’s theorem, in a flowing fluid, in which there is a constant relationship between each particle and no energy is added between any two points and no energy is removed from it, then the total energy at each point will be the same. This total energy is the sum of the datum, pressure and velocity energies.
When an incompressible and non-viscous fluid flows in a straight line from one place to another, the total energy of its unit volume at each point of its path, i.e., the sum of pressure energy, kinetic energy and potential energy is a is a controller.
S.I. The Bernoulli equation for liquids in the unit can be written as follows.
The value of Z1 can be omitted for gases.
Applications of Bernoulli’s Theorem
1. Pitot Tube- The velocity of the fluid flowing through it is determined. It is an L shaped glass tube with a slanting bottom end. This end is kept in the direction of flow. Its upper end remains open in the atmosphere. What is Bernoulli’s theorem?
2. Venturimeter- Used to measure the amount of fluid flowing in a dip.
It has three parts- 1. Converging cone, 2. Throat, 3. Diverging cone.
Hypothesis of Bernoulli’s theorem
- Ideal fluid and incompressible.
- Fluid flow is constant.
- The velocity of the fluid remains the same everywhere
- There is no force acting on the liquid other than the force of gravity and pressure.
- The flow of fluid is in the direction of a continuous stream line.
- There is no loss of energy of the particles in the flowing fluid.
Method of Finding Discharge by Venturimeter
It is used to measure the amount of fluid flowing through a pipe. it has three parts
1. Convergent cone. 2. Throat, 3. Diverging cone
1. Converging Cone- It is a small tube which converges from d1 to d2. It is also called the inlet of the venturimeter and its length is 2.5 d.
2. Throat- This is the small part of the venturimeter whose diameter is d, and it is located between the converging and diverging cones.
3. Diverging Cone: It diverges from d1 to d2. This is called the outlet or exit door of the venturimeter. Its length is 7.5d. There is a U-tube manometer to find the pressure difference at points (1) and (2).
Venturimeter is used for the following functions
(i) By this the rate of flow of liquid in the tube can be found.
(ii) It is used in product and chemical ship tankers.
(iii) Atomizers which dispense spray paint or perfume with a spray gun, use venturimeter.
(iv) Venturimeter is used for Industrial Vacuum cleaners.
(v) Venturi scrubbers are used to clean the flue gas emission.
(vi) Venturi mask is used in medical oxygen therapy.
(vii) The venturimeter is used in foam firefighting nozzles and extinguishers.
