friends, today I am going to tell you that the Difference between Feeder, Distributor and Service Mains : If you also want to know, then keep reading this article completely.
What is Feeder
The feeder is the conductor that connects the substation to the areas where the power is distributed. The feeder has a role in transporting the electrical power from the generating station or sub-station to the distributor. Normally no taping can be done in the feeder so that the value of current remains the same throughout its length. High current carrying capacity is an important factor in the design of the feeder.
What is Distributor
The distributor is the driver with the help of which electric power is delivered to the main service driver. It is shown by AB, BC, CD AD in the figure below. The current in a distributor is not fixed as it has taping at different places, and the potential drop depends on the electrical load taken by the consumer. The potential drop relative to its length is an important basis in the construction of a distributor. Hence, the maximum limit of the potential change is 46% of the fixed value at the consumer terminal.

What is Service Main
The service main is a conductor wire cable that connects the distributor to the consumer terminal. In our homes, there is only the cable service main coming from the pole to the meter.
A distribution system diagram is shown in the figure with the help of which feeder, distributor, and service main can be represented.
